My gorgeous girl Jana in white, Nikki Stalling who is the distributer for Hair Stiletto and two models wearing the extensions.....hot!!!
So for those of you who've never had extensions, or those that have, and weren't happy, I just wanted to explain (the bit that I understand) to you. In my opinion, the less you look like you "need" extensions, the more fabulous your hair will look after. I love my natural hair, but it's a little shorter than I'd like, and it tends to fall a little more flat than I would like. When I add in extensions, it instantly feels fuller and more glam, for some reason I feel thinner too??!! Who knows why....but let's just say I like it:) That said, extensions are much easier to blend and style, if you have at least a little length with your own hair. I've seen them done one very, very short hair, and to me...the top layer usually takes on a ....I hate the word mullet.....but yes, that look.
So basically I had a consult for my extensions a few days prior to getting them. Jana matched up my color, and ordered four different shades, so that I would have both highlights and lowlights. She ordered exactly what I would need, and the day of my appointment when I showed up, my pretty hair was waiting for me.
I arrived with clean, dry hair, and Jana skillfully attached tiny clusters of hair to small sections of my own hair. She bonded them with a little heat from a tiny, pink iron, and viola.....well sort of:) She worked away patiently for two and a half hours, and I then had many tiny clusters of new, beautiful hair. After the hair was attached, Jana had me stand up, and she cut the hair to blend with mine using a razor. It was just amazing to me when she finished, that I couldn't tell where my hair ended, and the Hair Stiletto extensions
http://hairstiletto.com/ began.
We talked a little bit about extensions, and their care etc....and here is what she said:)
1. When sleeping, put hair in a loose ponytail or braid to protect them, and keep them from getting tugged while you sleep restlessly.
2. You can enjoy them and style them like your hair, but treat them carefully, just like you would your hair.
3. Have realistic expectations, they are beautiful, and will enhance your look, but you may need to get used to how they feel, and it will take a few days for them to feel really comfortable.
4. Avoid Silicone products as these products can loosen the bond.
I have had several different types of extensions, and these were by far my favorite:) Ask away if you have any questions.....xoxo, Megan
