Imaginary transformations......
My mind doesn't stop working even after I leave my job as a stylist.....so many time, when I'm out to dinner, or taking a walk with the dogs, I see women on the street and instantly my mind begins to create a slightly different image for them. I picture a different shade of lipstick, a sleeker hairstyle........and perhaps a more natural haircolor. My favorite thing is to send people away from the salon after showing them that they are indeed more beautiful than they thought....it's my joy, and my passion, and my mind is always thinking of ways to do it......

Jana Rago and her Hair Stiletto extensions:)
My gorgeous girl Jana in white, Nikki Stalling who is the distributer for Hair Stiletto and two models wearing the extensions.....hot!!!
So for those of you who've never had extensions, or those that have, and weren't happy, I just wanted to explain (the bit that I understand) to you. In my opinion, the less you look like you "need" extensions, the more fabulous your hair will look after. I love my natural hair, but it's a little shorter than I'd like, and it tends to fall a little more flat than I would like. When I add in extensions, it instantly feels fuller and more glam, for some reason I feel thinner too??!! Who knows why....but let's just say I like it:) That said, extensions are much easier to blend and style, if you have at least a little length with your own hair. I've seen them done one very, very short hair, and to me...the top layer usually takes on a ....I hate the word mullet.....but yes, that look.
So basically I had a consult for my extensions a few days prior to getting them. Jana matched up my color, and ordered four different shades, so that I would have both highlights and lowlights. She ordered exactly what I would need, and the day of my appointment when I showed up, my pretty hair was waiting for me.
I arrived with clean, dry hair, and Jana skillfully attached tiny clusters of hair to small sections of my own hair. She bonded them with a little heat from a tiny, pink iron, and viola.....well sort of:) She worked away patiently for two and a half hours, and I then had many tiny clusters of new, beautiful hair. After the hair was attached, Jana had me stand up, and she cut the hair to blend with mine using a razor. It was just amazing to me when she finished, that I couldn't tell where my hair ended, and the Hair Stiletto extensions http://hairstiletto.com/ began.
We talked a little bit about extensions, and their care etc....and here is what she said:)
1. When sleeping, put hair in a loose ponytail or braid to protect them, and keep them from getting tugged while you sleep restlessly.
2. You can enjoy them and style them like your hair, but treat them carefully, just like you would your hair.
3. Have realistic expectations, they are beautiful, and will enhance your look, but you may need to get used to how they feel, and it will take a few days for them to feel really comfortable.
4. Avoid Silicone products as these products can loosen the bond.
I have had several different types of extensions, and these were by far my favorite:) Ask away if you have any questions.....xoxo, Megan

The new reigning queen of extensions....Jana Rago

Before extensions (top) ....after (and sort of during) bottom:)
Yesterday was my overhaul, I mean maintenance:) day for my hair. Things have been busy in my life, and my hair was feeling a little out of control! I have been wearing extensions for quite some time, because although my hair is quite thick.....it just never seems to grow past a certain point. I have been wearing Ultratress extensions for a while, which attach with adhesive, but the were very tangly and dull, and not nearly as nice as my own hair. Jana Rago (who is btw a delight to be around, and makes a couple of hours go by in what seems like a matter of seconds!!) did my new set of extensions yesterday, in under three hours, and they look amazing, and will last for 2-3 months. The hair was so beautiful.....glossy and super healthy looking......also very easy to comb just like my own hair (haha, I mean my own hair that I didn't buy.......I guess this hair is "mine" now too) Tomorrow I'm going to do a more detailed post about what was done to my hair, but today I just wanted to post a few pictures and say that I am thrilled! The brand of hair is Hair Stiletto http://www.hairstiletto.com/ and it's amazing!!!! Nikki Stalling who distributes the extensions was actually there while I was getting my new hair!:)
Have you had extensions or thought about getting them? Did you like them? Were they reasonably priced? What are your thoughts and questions? Comment me, I'd love to hear from you!

Taking time to smell the roses
With Ted at Pawsh, best dog groomers around!
Life gets so busy sometimes......and it almost starts to seem like if we haven't filled up every second of our day, then we must be doing something wrong. For quite a while, I've been so booked up in my life, that I haven't had any sort of a "Sunday" and I'm just starting to realize that such a day might be in order.
Today felt luxurious because I dropped Teddy (my teacup Yorkie) off to be groomed in the morning, and I had an hour an a half to shop for new work clothes in a leisurely manner. It felt fabulous to have the time, and now I feel ready to go and make some videos for the video workout blog that's coming out soon. I'm going to try to take some pictures of the things I bought today, they are beautiful! Super high, but comfortable shoes......
I also had a consultation for some extensions that I am getting next week (yes I have some in now) and I will be sure to post before and after pictures for you guys:)

With my boo, Teddy....at "our" consult:) Shout out to Jana:) She is the best! xoxo
